Mother May I? January 07, 2004 - 9:30 p.m.

You know you play The Sims too much when someone is talking or you're watching TV and your hand's reflexes try reaching for the fast forward toggle that isn't there in real life.

Damn Chris for getting me a goal oriented Sims game!

And, half of my 'friends' are in love with me. Which doesn't work as well as it sounds, because the jealousy can cause for some annoying, de-friending rivalries. It actually makes it more difficult to make friends, especially when it's with someone who's friendly and hugs everyone. Stupid Sims get too jealous, too easy.

In other news, it looks like I will be working this weekend. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. 11am to 9pm, supposedly.

So, three days of long hours taking tickets or using a scanner and three or four nights at my mom's stinky, freezing house.

Super.

On the plus side, we're finally going to see Return of the King. He wants to go tomorrow, provided he sleeps okay, but I'm trying to tell him to wait because this check will be small as he missed almost a full week of work and we need groceries and the cable bill to be paid. Lucky for us, Becky works for the cable company and was able to put an extension in for us. Twice. But if we wait any longer, they'll cut it off, and then there's this whole ordeal of not being able to get the same service we have now, afterwards. All because he even forgot about having to pay for cable now.

Okay, so two tickets at regular price would only be $16 or so, and that's not a lot of money. But when there's so much you need to cover first, it does make a difference. I just thought it would be smarter to wait until next Thursday, because that check will have a day's worth of overtime on it, also allowing us to spend that little bit of extra money on stocking the fridge. But we'll see what he decides.

See, I worry too much about this stupid shit. I can't just be like 'Yay! Let's go to the movies!!' and let him take care of his own money.

I guess every woman has a bit of that mothering quality in her.
