A God Among Insects May 06, 2003 - 10:45 a.m.

I hate being away from a computer for so long. That's the downfall of working, being at home with no water or computer. But the up side to working, is after we get caught up on bills, I can use my check to get a computer. But who knows how long that will take. Especially 'cause I still want to get that pair of glasses before the prescription runs out.

Whenever I get a consistent job, we may be looking at long breaks between entries. Much like what I've been doing the past few weeks, but maybe even worse.

It's temporary. It's gotta be.

Anyhow, Chris took me to a movie on Friday. I could have worked on Friday, but my mom was able to work a catering gig which paid so much more than this security/ushering thing, so she did that while I went to the movies with Chris then came home and watched tv.

We saw X-Men 2. That's the second weekend in a row that we've gone to see the number one movie of the week. I'm not used to this. But I could certainly get used to seeing kickass movies.

X2 rocked so hard.

The opening with Nightcrawler's fight. The cameos of other X-men. Colossus, Kitty Pryde (again), Siryn, Jubilee, Artie (non-morlock style), Beast, Black King, Angel's wing, Gambit... so many others. The onset of Phoenix, which I so wasn't expecting. That is, until the fight against Cyclops... then I realized what they were setting up. I was also shocked to see that Mastermind was in it. There was just so much cool stuff.

And I was very proud of myself for knowing so much about characters and what was going on, yet I've never read a single comic. I was even the one that pointed out that Beast was on the tv. And I knew Wolverine was at the place in Canada (Alkali Lake - thanks Darth) before anyone even said it.

I really just want to sit down and watch it again. See if there was someone else we missed. Maybe even Stan Lee. Of course, I just want to watch it again. But this time I'll be able to pick up on more stuff.

There's just soooo much that could be done in the next sequel now. So many open doors. So many possible characters to bring in, or simply elaborate on. Several storylines to work through. It's a supernatural soap opera.

I've just seen this one, and already I can't wait for the next one to come out. Hopefully we won't have to wait as long for the next one. But I'm sure that's not going to be the case.
