Wake-Me-Up Game October 02, 2004 - 3:29 p.m. I hate playing the 'wake me up' game. "Wake me up at 2:30." 2:30 rolls around and I go to wake him up. "Wake me up at 3." Another half hour, and I go to wake him up again. "I don't want to get up, but I will." I hear snoring from the other room. It could go on like this all night. It usually does. Supposedly, we were going to go have dinner, see a movie, and go to a bookstore tonight. He still has to actually wake up, and get ready. A movie is two hours and hopefully tickets won't be sold out. Going to eat at Chili's, where he planned, will take awhile. Especially on a Saturday night. There's going to be a long wait, a longish drive to get there as it's in another county, and then we have to actually get and eat the food. And once we get to the bookstore, we both like to wander for hours. Now, that's all fine. If he wakes up remotely soon then we can handle it. We'd still have to plan so that we make sure we aren't getting to the bookstore just as it's closing. And as far as dinner, I don't want to eat too late. And a movie? I'd rather not catch the midnight showing because I'll fall asleep during the movie. I planned on taking a nap earlier, but he came in after noon and said he wanted to sleep just for a couple of hours, then we'd go. If I slept too, I wouldn't have been able to wake him up. He plays the sleep game every single day. I don't know why I thought he'd be able to do otherwise, today. I should have just taken a nap then woken him up whenever I woke up. That would have made our plans so much easier.
