The End is Extremely Fucking Nigh June 25, 2003 - 5:57 a.m.

28 Days Later was very cool. And the zombie faces didn't freak me out at all, although every time the camera was on them, it was quite jittery. I think that was part camera, part zombie. They looked like they were on speed. Besides, they aren't your classic dead, 'I want brains' kind of zombies. They're more in a vampiric, Resident Evil virus kind of way, that throw up a lot, and move really fast. But even when there was a steady close-up, it didn't bother me. So yay. And we were even sitting in the front row... looking up at a huge, curved screen. The beginning was all about getting past the motion sickness.

Oh, Oh! I nearly cried in a zombie movie!! It was a guy that we knew was going to die... I mean, come on, he wasn't the main guy, he was very helpful, and he had a reason for staying alive... of course he was gonna die. But it was all sad firstly the way he went, and secondly the way he acted. It was kind of noble in a way, but different than other ways I've seen it portrayed. But now I'm not making any sense.

It was a family film, for all to see.

Okay, maybe not. But I did get stuff. Two big stickers with the logo on 'em. A stack of smaller stickers (26, after counting) that say 'The end is extremely fucking nigh', a backpack with the logo, and a cd from the local radio station that gave away the passes. They were also handing out pins and tshirts, but I didn't get those. Limited supply and such. Bastards. But hey, backpack, cool.

"No, no. See, this is a really shit idea. Know why? Because it's really obviously a shit idea."

There were several jump scenes. And some eye gouging. And dead bodies everywhere. And explosions and guns and blood and nudity and foul language and even drugs. This is what Resident Evil was supposed to be.
