Tasty Pain December 14, 2002 - 1:18 p.m. Chris has been at the hospital for over four hours now. He's visiting his dad of course. He's not there for himself. Apparently things aren't going so well for him. He's had to have two additional surgeries since the one on Thursday. There have obviously been complications. Something about the throat being in shock.......? If that makes any sense. I'm not good with all the medical jargon, so I never remember important stuff like that. There was also mention of some bloodwork that could be done to help things along. I don't think it was a transfusion, but I guess that's possible. I do know that it involved them signing papers to allow it. And don't ask me why I didn't go along with him. I vaguely remember him waking me up to tell me he was leaving. And I do know he didn't 'invite' me. Not that this is a situation you really want an invitation to. I'd like to be there for them. At the same time I realize that my presence won't actually solve anything. And truth be told, I'd much rather sit around here instead of in a hospital, but I think that's a common thought with people. Honestly... who really enjoys hanging out at hospitals? On more of a personal note, my jaw/tooth is starting to feel a bit better. I forced myself to eat a grilled cheese sandwich that Chris made for me last night. That was quite excrushiating yet tasty. It didn't hurt so much to chew, as it did to simply put the food in my mouth. Just so you know, pain sucks.
