... and a Side of Stress. August 24, 2002 - 7:28 p.m.

We got a call the other day from the bank my mom has her mortgage with. She stood in the kitchen staring at the caller ID and not answering. They left a message.

Something about the payment being late and repeating the phrase 'avoidance is not an option in solving this matter'. Yeah, I'm aware that you're payment could easily be a day late and they say things like that cause they want their money, but it still makes my skin crawl. Just knowing that there is the possibility that we could lose the house because she has too much fucking pride to ask for help or get a real job.

I don't know what her problem is... She's been working for a temp agency for at least 6 months. Now, when I say 'working', I don't REALLY mean 'working'. She seems to coincedentally work ONLY on the days that I'm not around. Which is only Tuesday and Wednesday. Two days a week doesn't pay the bills. And that's if she's even worked those two days like she's saying.

I have huge issues with my mom and all the lies I seem to catch her in, so I can't believe her when she says she's working only when I'm not there.

And now we're getting calls from the bank and an unusual letter from the electric company that isn't a bill... I don't know what else to think besides 'Fuck'.
