Government job in my future? March 28, 2002 - 9:10 a.m.

I keep toying with the idea of becoming an architect. It would be perfect, actually. I'm constantly looking at different buildings and pointing out various features that I like about them. I couldn't begin to count how many times I've drawn up floor plans of either a house I'd like to build or how I want to remodel our house.

My most recent design is adding an entire second floor to our house, as well as more cabinets in the kitchen, with a pantry. It would be great! The way I have it all set up is to have four huge bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs. Which would allow me to turn the existing bedrooms into an office, a library, and a storage room for christmas stuff, arts and crafts, and all that domestic crap. All of this, in turn, will free up a section in our basement to finally set up my darkroom. I already have most of the stuff for it. I'm just lacking the space. The rest of the basement would then consist of a media room with a 50+ inch widescreen TV and theater system, a pool table in a joining section of that room, and an exercise room. I figure if I have a seperate room to exercise in, I'll be more inclined to do so. I guess that seems pretty cheesy, but I feel if I were to exercise for just 1/2 hour a day I'd have more energy, which would lead me to be more ambitious. Not to mention staying fit... now that my metabolism sucks ass.

Another reason I think this kind of career would be perfect for me, is it's combined use of art and problem solving. I've been told quite often that I make a good strategist, problem solver type person. I may not be very articulate, dammit, but I'm good with puzzles! lol That's it!! My mind is so overrun with all these complex thoughts, that it distorts my basic motor skills! That explains so much! Um... why are you laughing? It's possible. So anyhow, as long as I can remember, I've loved brain teasers, codes, riddles, puzzles... all of that goofy crap. When I play video games, I typically enjoy the strategy games. Not action. Fuck the RP games. Give me puzzles.

And with that... I'm off to find some mind games on the internet. :)
