Some Shopping December 15, 2003 - 11:58 p.m.

We spent over six hours today wandering the crowded stores and spending money that we don't really have. I spent about $130 today, even paid for dinner, with still more things to buy. That's already way too much and I have other non-Christmas things that I need to worry about. I'm trying to not stress about it and be happy that I have any money to spend at all. I'm just torn between gift giving and usual concerns.

I've been told that I'm getting a lot of Nightmare Before Christmas stuff. Fine by me. Also, Chris already gave me the Hallmark Keepsake Scooby Doo ornament that he picked up tonight, so that I can put it on the tree, whenever we put it up. I told him we had to do that by this weekend. I'm demanding.

I feel bad, because he's picked up lots of stuff that I don't even have on my list. Stuff that he saw and thought I would like. But almost everything that he's getting, he either put on his list or pointed it out while we were in the store. I just couldn't think of much else that I was certain he would appreciate. I feel like I didn't put enough thought into his gifts this year. Though I'm sure he'll enjoy them, all the same.

While looking around at Waldenbooks, I came across this Buffy book. For only four bucks. As Chris put it, it was 'ridiculously cheap'. So he made me get it. Actually, he took it out of my hands, walked to the register, payed for it, then started walking out of the store. I figured he would just wrap it and give it to be for Christmas. Instead, he handed it to me before we even made it to the door. I've already taken the trivia quiz that runs through it, and ranked 'Willowesque', which is second from the highest score. Yeah, I'm a big nerd.

Christmas is just over a week away, and I still don't know if I'm going to be able to send cards this year... that's pretty bad.

Other than some small things like candy for stockings, the last tiny bit of my shopping can be completed online. Gotta love that. Just hope everything arrives in time.
