Semi-Feverish Ramblings January 02, 2004 - 11:51 p.m.

Okay, so I'm sort of sick now.

Well, in my mind, I'm not fully sick.

I'm fully sick when I've become delusional and start seeing this weird, thick, black, mist type stuff fill the room. At that point, I'm pretty much bedridden and sleeping a stupid amount.

Every time I've gotten that sick, I've seen the weird misty stuff. It typically starts rolling in from a high corner of the room, but I once saw it come out of the tv. It slowly starts to fill the room until I suddenly pass out into my next round of delirious sleep.

But I'm not there yet. In fact, when I get that sick, I can't even sit up without feeling like I'm going to pass out, and often doing just that. And while I have been feeling quite light-headed, I can stand and walk at length. And I can typically sit up for a very long time without feeling the need to lie down for a few minutes.

It all started late Tuesday when I felt that tiny little tickle in my throat that would cause random, light coughs. By the next day, they had more intensity and caused my head to hurt just a little more with each cough. To the point of immense pain. But I still went to work.

At a basketball game.

If that wasn't enough torture alone, everytime I'd go to turn my head, I would get an almost drunk, dizzy feeling. Not enough to stagger, but enough to be annoyed and concerned. When I get hit with a high fever I'm not functional. And it's terribly sudden. I would have had to lay there, right on the dirty linoleum. Getting me from one end of the building to the other, then run a good length of the parking lot to get to the car, would not have been fun for whoever had to do it. And if I were to try and walk it... it could take hours.

I probably shouldn't be sitting here. I already feel kind of dizzy.

Let's see; sore throat, coughing, cough induced headaches, light-headedness.

There seems to be a slight fever that comes and goes. I can be sitting there and suddenly feel very hot and throw the blanket off of myself. Then a minute later be scrambling for the blanket because I've gone back to normal. And of course, we don't have a thermometer here, so I can't check for sure.

That's about it. No running or stuffy nose. The only muscle aches I feel are from sleeping on the floor, which seems to be the only place I can get comfortable right now. Oh, and sometimes it hurts to move my eyes without turning my head. But I think that's all part of the headache too. Light sensitivty and all that happens a lot.

Which is a total pain when you're trying to read.

Seeing as the holidays are finally over and people aren't constantly here, I'm finally able to read again. I've been dying to finish reading Return of the King but just haven't had time. And now that I do, I can only read a little at a time.

But I'm finally starting the last chapter.

Having just finished 'The Scouring of the Shire', I have to say I'm pissed to hear that it didn't make it into the movie. And there's no word on whether it will make it to the Extended Edition either. I'm hoping it will. Discounting the last chapter, as I haven't read it, I'd have to say that this one was my favorite to read. I somehow found it the most fascinating. There was just so much... finality and strength to it.

But I'm a big dope that could pass out any second, and though I'm not hopped up on cold meds, I probably should be.

I still can't wait to see the movie. No idea when we're going to see it, either.

For those that may be concerned: Yes, I'm going outside and making sure to get some fresh air.

Dork.
