Academy Award Winning... March 03, 2004 - 12:04 a.m.

Thanks to the generosity of one of Chris' friends, we finally saw Return of the King tonight.

He had received free movie passes for something at work, and once he heard we still hadn't seen the movie and why, he handed his passes over to us.

So it was an awesome movie, big duh. There were only five people in the theater. Total.

Everything was amazing, but being the utter retards we are, Chris and I joked about things throughout.

Like: It was really nice to see that Sean Astin and Sloth are still good friends and Sean was able to get him a good sized role in the movie.

And, along those same lines: I want to get a screen capture of the scene where Sam picks Frodo up and starts carrying him, and edit it with 'Goonies never say die'.

Then there were geeky things, like pointing out the wedge tactical manuever and saying 'Oh! The book did it this way!'.

There were lots of things in this one that I would have loved if they'd kept in, like the Shire reconstructing, but I understand that not everything could have stayed. And there was just so much for them to cover. I can't wait to see the extended version.

Mostly, I thought it was very nice for Chris' friend to give up his movie tickets, just so we could enjoy ourselves for a few hours.
