Relocation Program June 03, 2004 - 2:55 p.m. We have a telemarketer or bill collector that keeps calling every hour, despite the fact that I've told them Chris is asleep. They won't leave a message, they just insist on trying again later. Actually, I timed the last calls as an hour and a half apart. I'm getting tired of their calls and want a way to avoid them, but without completely unplugging the phone. I checked it for a volume control/ringer-off type feature. Nothing like that. So I simply moved the phone. Now it's in an unused bedroom - unless you count storage as a genuine use - that's on the other side of the house. We can still hear it ring but it isn't as bothersome, and it beeps at us if someone leaves a message. Whether I decide to answer it is still in question. More than likely, I won't. The only reason I've continued to answer it thus far, has been to quiet the ringing as the phone was right beside the master bedroom door. The more it rings, the less likely Chris is able to get peaceful sleep. So placing it on the other side of the house, confined in a room instead of out in the vastness of the vaulted ceilings from the combo living room and kitchen, as well as closing the door, greatly lessens the chance of these annoying people waking him up. Now the dicks can call all they want, and they won't be bothering anybody. They'll get the answering machine, but they probably still won't leave a message. Now, I think I'll go enjoy the near-quietness with some TV or start reading a new book. I just finished re-reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, to refresh my memory for the movie. It had been three years, afterall, since I've read it. I can't wait to see the movie. My eyes glaze over in amazement everytime I see a commercial for it. I'll even be punny and say the commercials are 'magical'. After re-reading it, though, I think I've decided that come time for Goblet of Fire to premiere I won't be re-reading the fourth book. Not until after I've seen the movie. There were little things that I had forgotten in the third book, like Hermione's secret, that would have been more interesting to have seen on screen and then remembered. Making the movie a little more... well, magical. With the story so fresh in my head, the movie might not be nearly as exciting. But if I know the gist of it, yet have forgotten several things or minor details, then it adds a bit to the viewing experience. There's a bit more newness that way. Eh, what do I know? I'm a silly person will silly thoughts.
