Without a Thought May 07, 2003 - 12:34 p.m.

This Saturday, while handing out tampons and sitting under traffic, two guys came around with a camera. It wasn't a news thing, just two kids with a camera. Presumably, they were doing some assignment for school or something for a public access show.

They asked if they could ask me one question on camera. Seeing as I was bored and there were no people around, I decided to go for it. Despite my full loathing of cameras. Unless I'm behind them.

They turn the camera on and ask the question.

'Would you die for your parents?'

I honestly couldn't tell you exactly what I said. Something about my mom 'pissing me off' and my dad being really cool. There was full admittance to the fact that they've done so very much for me as I've grown up. I guarantee, had I had time to think about it, I would have phrased things differently. As it is now, I'm sure my mom would be upset if she were to see it.

Thinking now, I don't know that I could truly say I would die for anyone. Call me selfish. But then again, it would also depend on any circumstances involved. When you're asked a question like that out of the blue, with no other supporting evidence or issues, you probably wouldn't have the same answers as if you were in the thick of a dilemma.

Then there's the whole thing of having a camera in my face... and hating cameras... therefore feeling nervous.

Cameras are not my friend.

So, my very few faithful readers, I've got an assignment for you. Riddle me this... without giving it any thought, would you die for your parents? Don't linger on the question, just answer.

I don't even care if you leave me the answer.. I just want to force you to think, without thinking.
