Wake Me Up, Before You Go Go July 18, 2003 - 10:15 a.m.

Chris' friends are going to pay his way into GenCon. They really want him to go and enjoy the event with them, as well as participate in the tournament. But I am not going. One of the guys told the girl that offered to pay my way, that they didn't want girls going. Which could be well and true, but I've also heard that she's caused problems at events like this, so it may have just been a nice way of him saying 'We don't want you around, bitch'.

I've given it thought recently, and it didn't make sense for me to go. Chris' time will be filled with tournament stuff, so I would end up wandering the place alone. And from what I can gather, there wasn't a whole hell of a lot of stuff that would truly interest me. Dragon*Con on the other hand.... yes, I would still love to go to that whether I'm by myself or not. But I'm thinking, not this year. We'll work towards next year.

I was joking around with him saying the main reason his friends want him to go so badly, is so that they can buy him a Klingon prostitute. And for some reason, the thought of that (a hooker dressed as a Klingon) struck me as being very funny.

Every morning, whether I've been asleep for hours or just minutes, Chris wakes me up before he goes to work to tell me to have a nice day. This is a small thing that I've grown to truly appreciate. He could just as easily call from work when he knows I'm awake and say the same thing, but I like the exchange of wellbeing wishes just before he leaves the house.

He's leaving for GenCon next Wednesday evening. I will most likely stay here while he's gone... afterall, someone has to feed the kitties. But that means I have to endure at least four mornings without my 'have a great day' awakenings. And this makes me a sad, sad girl.
