Friday Five - Traveling August 08, 2003 - 2:05 p.m.

1. What's the last place you traveled to, outside your own home state/country?

This time last year, I was getting back from a month's stay in Florida. About a week before going there, I went to Maryland for my brother's wedding.
2. What's the most bizarre/unusual thing that's ever happened to you while traveling?
When coming home from Florida one summer, I was stranded in Newark, New Jersey [Florida to Kentucky, but I flew to New Jersey first?? Yeah, I don't get it either.] for just one night because of weather. Luckily we had mechanical issues with our plane, so the airline company put me up in the Hilton. Fourteenth floor. I was all by myself so I thought it was the coolest thing. But that's not really bizarre. I guess the naked boy in New York would win that award. Naked with a blue tongue, peeing on everything. Yeah.
3. If you could take off to anywhere, money and time being no object, where would you go?
I've never been out of the U.S., so that would be cool. Just anywhere. Some other country. Or some other state that I've never been to. Some place with a lot of beauty. Or back to New York, because I missed out on the tourist stuff when I was there, like Time Square and the Statue of Liberty and other places that I can't think of right now. If I didn't have to worry about money or time, I'd go everywhere.
4. Do you prefer traveling by plane, train or car?
I've never been on a train, so I'd love to try that one day. It seems really cool. Planes are faster, so I love that... but I'm paranoid and worry that each flight I get on will crash. Car rides can be fun, as long as you don't have to worry about annoying kids. It's great to ride through beautiful countryside. But there is that concern of gas and pollution.
5. What's the next place on your list to visit?
Probably go back to Florida again, visit the family. Nothing too exciting.
