Hairy Friday Five June 20, 2003 - 8:54 a.m.

1. Is your hair naturally curly, wavy, or straight? Long or short?

Naturally straight, no wave or curl whatsoever. Very long... right now, past my waist.

Not much at all. When I was six I got the 'pixie cut', as my mom likes to call it, which was very short. I never cared about my hair, so from then till about middle school (age 11 or 12) I had the classic little girl hairstyle; long, but with bangs. No real style, just let the hair fall then chop off whatever covers the eyes. When I started middle school, I decided I wanted to let my bangs grow out and have all my hair one length, and I started parting my hair to the side. I'll admit, I even did the fluffy bangs thing on occasion during the first part of middle schoool. I wisened up in eighth grade and had simple hair, still long and parted to the side, but nothing special. I cut it that summer, just before high school, and it was just below my shoulders. By high school, it was all one length and pretty much the same, save for a few different times I dyed it black, blue, or purple. I changed the part to the middle in my sophomore year. And it's really been the same since then, except for the occasional changing of parts for variety and cutting several inches here and there.

Mostly just down. Nothing special, half the time I don't even bother brushing it, but you can't tell right now. Otherwise in a loose ponytail or the 'princess style', where half of it is held back away from my face.

I'm seriously contemplating cutting it above my shoulders. Still one length, same colour, part, everything. Just way shorter. A lot like Buffy's new cut in Gone. Here or here.

Um... I guess when I bleached the black out of my hair to get it back to brown... when doing so, I wanted a streak towards the front to be actually blonde, but only a couple of inches worth, right at the scalp, turned blonde. So I had this small little square of blonde hair. But I thought it was pretty neat afterwards, so I guess it wasn't really a disaster. I'm pretty tame when it comes to doing anything drastic to my hair. Not much of a risk taker. At the most, I dye it or cut it. I'm so lame.
