Encouragement in Minor Words June 11, 2003 - 11:24 p.m.

I get to work Friday. A whopping fours hours, which will result in less than twenty five dollars in pay. But money is money. Chris even said I didn't have to work it if I didn't want to, because it was so few hours. Which completely shocked me. I thought for sure his feelings would be more along the lines of 'you need to work whenever you can'. So it was encouraging to hear him say that, as it made it seem as though he didn't see me as the lazy waste I usually feel that I am. There was that feeling that he knew I was trying, and right now, that's enough.

That... or it was his passive aggressive way of saying 'Only four hours at minimum wage? Don't bother. Get a real job, you lazy shit'.

I'd like to think that's my pessimistic, analytic side running rampant, and my original interpretations were correct.

I've been told that, yet again, this job proves to be completely boring as well as pointless. I'll be sure to take a book.

Fool for Love was on today. The episode where Spike tells Buffy the story of his slayers slaying. While watching it, I noticed something. Before he's turned, when he's still William and writing 'bloody awful' poetry, you see what kind of personality he had. How he's this shy loser that has this huge crush on Cecily Addams. The feelings are not mutual as she feels that Spike is 'beneath her'. (A phrase we heard a lot in season seven... maybe a moment of foreshadowing? 'From beneath you, it devours.' Spike was underground when he 'devoured' the city.) While her and Spike were having this pathetic conversation, I noticed his love interest looked awfully familiar. Taking another look, I saw that in fact the same actress that played Ms. Cecily Addams was indeed the very same person to portray one Halfrek, demon friend of Anya.

I love picking up on little things like that. Times where they've used the same actor to play different characters. Like Luke and the Judge were both the same person. And the nutty vamp, originally setup to test Buffy then later kidnapped Joyce forcing Buffy to fight while Helpless, was the same guy that played Rack, the magick dealer that fed Willow's addiction. Let's not forget that Tom Lenk, Andrew, was first seen as one of Harmony's vampire minions.

Now I'm wondering if there are other characters that I've overlooked...

I have way too much time on my hands.
