Breaking it Down August 06, 2003 - 9:27 a.m. A friend advised me to check out Dream Moods to interpret the random dream I posted a few entries back. So I thought I'd share the various searches that I could think of. I'm sure there are several other things I could have looked for, but this is pretty extensive. Camera - To see a camera in your dream, signifies your desires to cling on and/or live in the past. Alternatively, it may represent your need to focus on a particular situation. Perhaps you need to get a clearer picture or idea.I didn't actually see the camera, but it was there, so maybe it was from the guy's point of view. Like the guy needs to sort things out before going along with a marriage. Picture - To see a picture in your dream, symbolizes a mental imprint that remains persistent in your mind. There may be permanence in your actions. Also consider the pun on "picture this" or "seeing the big picture" in a situation.Again, this would probably pertain more to the guy's point of view. Focusing on a situation, pretty much goes along with the camera thoughts. Stairs - To dream that you are walking up a flight of stairs, indicates that you are achieving a higher level of understanding. You are making progress into your spiritual/emotional/material journey. It also represents material and thoughts that are coming to the surface.Well, I was already at the top of the steps, so you could take it as meaning I've already reached a higher level of understanding. Which could be the case, because I don't bullshit myself about things. Thoughts coming to the surface? Hhmmmm... Ring Finger - To dream of your ring finger, represents success, popularity and creativity, It also has association with marriage, union, and commitments.Yeah, this ties in with the whole proposal thing. Proposal - To dream that you are being proposed to, indicates that you are merging a previously unknown aspect of yourself. More directly, the dream suggests you are thinking about marriage or some serious long-term commitment/project/situation. Your reaction to the proposal indicates your true feelings about marriage or commitment.Okay, so I'm all for marriage or committing to a long-term activity. Yeah, yeah... I can see it. Height - To dream that you are at a great height, signifies that you have reached one of your highest goals or objectives.Being that it was at this location involving height where the proposal took place, then it seems my highest objective is marriage. Again, I can see this, as all I truly want now is that happy family in a nice home, which all starts with an engagement. [Nice home, meaning some place clean and livable. I'm not too picky as long as the rest falls into play.] Dusk - To see the dusk of day in your dream, signifies defeated hopes and a dark, gloom outlook in your endeavors.Nah. Doesn't make sense. I would interpret the dusk as a symbol to the end of a perfect day. Or even further, the end of a particular part of life. With marriage, your life can go into a new direction. Maybe the dusk in my dream symbolizes the end of a dark and gloomy outlook. Sunset - To see the sunset in your dream, indicates the end of a cycle or condition. It is a period of rest, renewal, and evaluation. There wasn't actually a full sunset, but there was that feeling that we were there to see one. And it was really close to it. This description fits with my feelings towards the dusk meaning. Green - Green signifies a positive change, good health, growth, healing, hope, vigor, vitality, peace, and serenity. Green is also symbolic of your strive to gain recognition and establish your independence.Self-explanatory. Faceless - To see a faceless figure or person in your dream, indicates that you are still searching for your own identity and finding out who you are. Perhaps you are unsure of how to read people and their emotions. And therefore are expressing a desire to know and understand these people in a deeper level.I can honestly say I am unsure of how to read people. Not necessarily their emotions, because I often feel I'm pretty in tune with stuff like that.. but just how someone might react to a particular event or phrase. As for searching for my own identity? Prolly not. Unless I've got this void where I feel like I'm not a whole person without having that partner at my side. In which case, I can agree with this one. Love - To dream of love of being in love, suggests intense feelings carried over from a waking relationship. It implies happiness and contentment with what you have and where you are in life. On the other hand, you may not be getting enough love in your daily life. We naturally long for the sense to belong and to be accepted. That part about seeing a couple in love interested me, because a good portion of the dream seemed to be from third person. I'd love to have some success soon. That'd be groovy. I can't figure out how that first part comes into it. Emotions carrying over? Don't think so. Not getting enough? Chris is caring and complentary and tells me every day how much he likes me, but I could see how this is possible. Happy - To dream that you are happy, may be a compensatory dream and is often a dream of the contrary. You may be trying to compensate for the sadness or stress in your waking life.Big giant duh here! Based on this analysis... I'm ready for a long-term commitment, not necessarily marriage, but very likely as it seems that it is part of my highest objective. My current life is all sad and gloom, and maybe I'm hoping that by marrying that ideal faceless person, things will change for the better as well as no longer feeling like half a person. Oh, and I apparently have thoughts that are coming to the surface. The thing I still don't get is the camera and picture. Is there really someone else that had this same dream, and this refers to his psyche? If so, it seems he has some issues of his own to work on, before moving on to a commitment. Maybe he's to 'picture' me and realize that's what he wants in life? I wish I could remember all my dreams with such great detail... I'm kinda enjoying this whole analyzing stuff. I'd be a dork with a dream journal and I'd write down everything I remember, then spend time interpreting it. Then again, that'd be too obsessive and maybe there's joy to be had in simply having the strange dreams and living life day by day. An occasional interpretation is cool though.
