2002: An Ozzie and Harriet Odyssey April 11, 2002 - 4:02 a.m.
My sleep routine has been thrown out of whack again. Usually I'm asleep right now and my boyfriend's playing EQ. (EQ = EverQuest, EverPatch, EverCrack, NeverQuest... whatever you wanna call it.) I guess we're looking into a mirror tonight because it's switched. I'm using the computer. And he's using the bed.
I made a pastry faux pas last night. I tend to get all Donna Reed a lot. Last night being one of these 50's sitcom moments, I decided to make a cake. Simple mix prepacked in a box. I start mixing it... go to get the vegetable oil, and can only find canola oil. It says 'all vegetable' on the label, so I figured I'd be okay. Besides, I'd already mixed the water and eggs into the flour, what else was I gonna do?
But I realized I had fucked up when I went to lick the spoon and the taste was all wrong. It wasn't awful... just........ off. It baked fine. The icing is yummy, complete with sprinkles. That strange aftertaste just forces the childlike appeal out of it. It's still a good cake.... it just doesn't leave you saying 'I need another piece!!'. So I picked up some REAL vegetable oil at the store today, and I plan on making a REAL cake next week.
I made baked Honey Barbeque chicken today. It was soooo good! I like being able to fix a nice meal. Must be the domestic wench in me. That's just one more reason I loved living at the lake, I could bake and cook all I wanted. Okay, so maybe I don't like to cook ALL the time. I am lazy, after all. Frozen dinners, microwave popcorn, Ramen noodles, and poptarts will always be close to my heart. LOL
I upgraded to AOL 7.0 tonite. Been messing with the radio on here. Some neat stuff, but they need to improve their categories a bit. I think they've got too many special DJ stations, for one thing. Come on.... an entire station devoted to remixes of *NSYNC?? Can someone please tell me why!! So far I can't find a single station that plays only things I like. I've been flipping stations every few songs since I've turned it on.

Can I share a secret with you? I find myself flipping back to the WB Radio. *hides in shame* I'm hoping to catch Bif Naked. No luck so far. The search continues.......
