Only Tiny Actors May 26, 2003 - 3:51 a.m.

So I'm sure everyone has seen one of the newer commercials for Coca Cola.

A lone girl sits in a theater, watching an old classic black and white film. She meets eyes with a guy also sitting alone in the theater. They both start saying the lines that are being heard in the movie, the girl reciting the girl's lines, the boy with the boy's. He eventually walks over to her and she gets up to be with him. And they live happily ever after.

Anyhow, this commercial seems to play repeatedly. And every single time it plays, I see that girl and think she looks familiar. Similar, in a way, to Audrey Tautou, the actress responsible for Amelie. But obviously not her. Maybe a mix of several known faces? Possibly.

Then last night, the same commercial aired yet again. And it hit me.

She's a Slayer in Training. Vi, I think.

Then just now, there was a commercial for some big company. Morgan and Stanley, or something like that. And she was in that commercial as well! This time playing a young violin player that wanted to get into Juilliard, and enlisted the help of the company advertised.

While on the subject of Buffy actors that have appeared in commercials, I recently saw Elizabeth Anne Allen (Amy Madison - witch/rat) in a commercial for Dove shampoo. I've seen the Dove commercials a lot, but have only seen the ad with her that one time.

I don't know why I find it so interesting when these random actors show up in random commercials or even shows. But for some reason, I get almost as excited to see them play such a small role as I would seeing them play a leading role in a big movie. I'm silly like that. Besides... I can turn anything into a Buffy topic.

Or it could be the lack of sleep talking.
