Brief rundown of a boring weekend April 30, 2002 - 12:54 p.m. There's not much on tv late night, especially when you don't have cable. Hence my weekend was full of 4 a.m. movies. Return of the Jedi on Thursday. Foxfire Friday. Saturday I watched a movie I taped off tv a few years ago, but never seemed to have the opportunity to watch. Ripe. One of those fucked up, 'these people need help' kind of movies. It wasn't schizophrenic David Lynch fucked up... but the stars were two unstable (pre)teens, one of which bashes 2 boinking rats with a carny mallet. Here they were, minding their business, enjoying their short lifespan (they only live to be an average of 3, ya know..) and SPLAT... some pedophilia on an army base... oh, and let's not forget the mention (and shot of) the 'Anal-Intruder' at the beginning of the flick. So yeah... we also saw The Scorpion King on Saturday. And I watched Man Without a Face, Sunday evening. I love that movie. :) I finished reading Foxfire. Other than most of the main characters and a couple of key plot points that wind up brutally mutilated, the book is nothing like the movie. It was really groovy though. Thoughts of 'Project Mayhem' kept popping up in my head while reading it though. It definitely had a dulled down, female Fight Club feel to it. Now I can't decide what to read next... I'm debating on starting Chronicles of Narnia that I got for Christmas. But it's 767 pages.... paperback. I'm so paranoid about cracking the spine on it. Call it petty, superficial, whatever... I just want to my stuff to stay nice. Although, this won't prevent me from reading it, I can guarantee that I will bitch (at least make a momentary sad face) when I find that nasty crease down the spine. ![]() Find your emotion! [?]
