New Spin, Same Show May 08, 2003 - 12:37 p.m. Angel was so very awesome last night. Through the entire episode my mind was simply going 'Yay! Yay! Yay!'. The whole prospect of Angel Investigations becoming the leaders of the L.A. division of Wolfram & Hart.... that just kicks tons of ass. And of course, Lilah being in another episode, more 'yay'. I'm going to be a sad girl indeed if the show isn't picked up for another season. If I don't get to see how Angel handles this new 'opportunity', I'll... uh... be upset. Or something. There's a rumor that if the show is indeed picked up, Giles may become a regular character. So you'll have Giles, Wes, and possibly the guy that Wes knocked out. That makes three ex-watchers working in the same place. Could this possibly grow to become the start of the new Watchers' Council? Which would then create the momentum for new Slayers, and new spin-offs. But that's just my stupid, ill-thought theory. Another jumble of words that I'm labeling theory... Gunn and the white room. That's originaly where the girl [Little Miss Muffet, as he called her] resided. Now, if I recall correctly, the Beast killed her. That's why she wasn't there when Gunn arrived. But there was that panther. So is the panther a new spirit/guardian/whatever for the place? Or was it a gift for Gunn? Like new powers, strength, courage. Maybe just an entity that invited him to his new position in the company. His tour guide told him that they had bigger things in store for him. So simply put, the panther could have made him more superhero like. Better abilites to make him an even more efficient fighter and asset. Although I'm thinking there's something more along the lines of taking the little girls place, but more on an external, out in the world, level. I believe Fred's tour guide was Holden, the near-psychiatrist vamp that Buffy talked to before staking. Not the same character though, just actor. Big duh at Fred being given the place of head scientist. No surprise there. And Lorne loving the entertainment clients. Lorne is such a great character. He gets all the cool lines too. "Hate to be the little demon who cried apocalypse nowish... but, uh..." Essentially, the prophecy did come true. The father will kill the son. He did something to change Connor's memory as well as everyone elses. It's as if he never existed. 'To kill' can carry several different meanings. Besides, that's how prophecies work. You twist them to mean whatever you want. Now we just have to wait one more week to hear the official word on whether WB is going to pick it up for another season. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Why is it that every movie I try to download is actually a poorly disguised file for Anger Management? Think they're trying to tell me something?
