3D Vomit Free June 15, 2003 - 12:28 p.m. I think I may have a way to resolve the inconvenience of taking my contacts out just to play video games. I'll get a cheap pair of glasses or sunglasses and pop the lenses out. Then I'll just keep the frames by the game systems so that when I want to play and I have my contacts in, I can put those on. See... I'm thinking the thing that makes the difference is seeing the frames to the side of my line of vision. I think the frames somehow distort my depth of perception which in turn distracts from the effects of the 3-D movement. I was right about the contacts being the source of my problem to begin with, so maybe I'll be right about this too. If it works, then that'll save me from taking the time to take my contacts out anyhow. Odds are, if you're going to play a video game, you don't really want it to be something that involves planning and setup beforehand. Throwing on a pair of frames is not an involved ordeal, therefore makes a quick solution. Provided it works. Obviously, this whole motion sickness thing really fucked with me. It was just so odd, I had to figure it out. Yesterday Chris had an L5R tournament, and I went to the bookstore with him. I read the new Arkham Asylum and looked through a preview book, which had some pretty neat stuff. I wanted to read Chaos Bleeds, but they still didn't have a copy. And I started reading The Infinity Gauntlet, but had to stop after the first part because of severe stomach pains. They were so intense that I was in tears a couple of times. I was still hurting just as much when I went to sleep last night. But felt almost fine when I woke up. And..... that's really all there is to say. Blah.
